The honor recognizes North America's Top 25 Best in Wellness senior living communities, and Carolina Bay is ranked at No. 9, the release stated. The award is a joint initiative between the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) and NuStep, a firm that manufactures fitness equipment widely used in healthcare, senior living and fitness.

"Some of the highlights of Carolina Bay at Autumn Hall's wellness endeavors include its annual Olympics Week, where residents compete in a variety of activities," according to the release. "In addition, the community recently introduced a new Masters Putting Tournament."

Carolina Bay at Autumn Hall's team ensures a  high volume of participation in wellness programming, the release stated.

Their INSPIRE wellness program, which was developed by Liberty Senior Living almost nine years ago, is a multi-faceted initiative reflecting all dimensions of wellness (as reflected in its acronym: Inclusive, Nutritional, Spiritual, Physical, Intellectual, Recreational, and Engaging.)

Haley Kinne-Norris, INSPIRE wellness and enrichment coordinator, said in the release, “We have residents who go from relying on a walker/assistive device to not needing one, whether that be from recovering from health conditions or simply from becoming engaged in an active wellness program."
