Wilmington Symphony Orchestra
Wilmington Symphony Orchestra
Founded in 1971, the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra (WSO) provides symphonic music at the highest degree of excellence through performance opportunities for regional musicians and educational programs for our community’s youth.
The WSO performs a concert series in Wilson Center at CFCC and is comprised of 65 to 70 auditioned musicians from around the Cape Fear Region. Dr. Steven Errante has served as Conductor of the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra for over 35 years.
The WSO also provides both performance opportunities and an array of unique educational programs for Wilmington and Cape Fear Region residents through its Music For Youth education and community outreach programs. These programs include the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestras, an annual Young Artists Concerto Competition, WSO's Education Concert at Wilson Center, and an Artist in Residence and Tickets For Students program where children meet with WSO's special guest artists and attend masterclasses.
