An event to connect older adults and their caregivers with local housing and service providers takes place in Wilmington on Nov. 15.

Expo4Seniors is a senior housing and lifestyle choice expo stopping in Wilmington 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Nir Family YMCA, 2710 Market St.

The free event will include info and vendors about lifestyle services as well as health and wellness options. At Expo4Seniors, older adults and their caregivers and family members also can learn about active adult retirement communities, home care services and home care agencies as well as senior living options for independent living, skilled nursing and home health care.

“The goal of our expos is to create healthy living and lifestyles for seniors and caregivers,” said Andrew Kammerer, chief revenue officer for Expo4Seniors.

Older adults have lots of choices to make and don’t need to be making those choices alone or without all of the information. This event is stacked with companies to help older adults navigate the challenges that come with aging.

There will be 15 companies offering a wide range of products and services. HearingLife will offer free hearing tests to all seniors, and Eli Lilly and Company will have info on trial studies for diabetes and clinical research. Additional companies at the expo include CapTel Captioned Telephone, Englert LeafGuard, Carolina Dunes, Behavioral Health, Saber Healthcare Group, Shelf Genie, Humana, Wilmington Funeral and Cremation, IQVIA and YMCA. The companies plan to have giveaways, and gift cards will be awarded as door prizes. Winners must be present to win.

Expo4Seniors, from Cincinnati, Ohio, has been hosting senior health and wellness expos in North Carolina and the Midwest for the past 13 years.

Started in 2011 by tradeshow experts Kammerer, Jennifer Kammerer and Bob Westerkamp, Expo4Seniors has been a senior expo producer for over a decade. The team saw a need for nursing homes, assisted living facilities, health care providers and senior service providers to meet face-to-face with prospective clients.
